From the history of the Killaloe Canal and the Shannon Scheme of 1929, we cruise towards where Brian Boru High King of Ireland kept watch over the river crossing at Beal Boru. Cruising into the calm waters of Lough Derg, sheltered by the Slieve Bernagh and Arra Mountains, the panoramic view is spectacular.
Traffic information:
- Our boat departs from Ballina Quay which is located on Lakeside Drive in the town of Ballina County Tipperary.
- Directly across the bridge is the town of Killaloe in County Clare. Free parking is available in both towns.
- Killaloe and Ballina are a popular visitor location and heavy traffic is to be expected. Please allow enough time to reach our location.
- Public toilets are also available.
- It is necessary to arrive for your cruise 10 minutes before departure time.
- There are wonderful restaurants and cafe's in both our twin towns. All are within walking distance of our departure point.
- The local bank has an ATM Machine and there are grocery stores in both towns also.
After your cruise we return to the same location we departed from.
- Spirit of Killaloe has open decks and it's here you will get the best view so dress appropriately for the weather. It also have enclosed heated seating area's with large windows to enjoy the view so don't let a little rain deter you from a very enjoyable cruise.
- It is necessary to arrive at the quay 10 minutes before departure time.
- Killaloe River Cruises cruise daily, weather permitting.
- Please present your ticket on your mobile device as you board. It is not necessary to provide a printed ticket.
- Once purchased the date for which a ticket has been purchased cannot be changed.
- Please ensure your tickets are purchased for the correct number of adults/children/seniors.
- Killaloe River Cruises reserve the right to charge the appropriate entry fee to anyone who cannot validate their ticket.
